First time i heard about the movie "kick ass" i was thinking.. eh? Watchmen spoof movie? When i digged deeper and finally saw the trailer, i found out that it was not and it was more like an indipendent superhero movie.
So here was a geek who likes to qoute superheros. Love the scenes where he actually pointed out that he was not bitten by a radio active spider, nor escaped from a doom planet or his parents got mug and murdered on the streets. That was pretty hilarious. I think comic book geeks would love this movie. There are some truth in the movie though, setting aside the super hero stuff.
Admit it, you wouldn't help a stranger being mug in the streets. How many times has happened that someone died right infront of a call center building coz the guards didnt do anything but lock the doors and watch a poor fellow being mug and stabbed to death. Sometimes, it takes a hero to help strangers in need. Not only that, how about corruption inside the law. That is pretty normal. Policemen in the gang's payroll? really now.
Funny about this movie is the little girl. Wow.. love the way she handled the balisong. And love the way he saved his dad. She is a good actress in such a young age, she reminds me of Dekota Fanning in her younger years. And really does this picture look familiar? Yes, for those otakus. She does look like Kite.
In the end, you would see that we might be expecting a Kick Ass two. Which is already at the works. Maybe we will be seeing Red Mist as a villian in kick-ass2.
