cute owls with an accent ^_^

"i don't want to watch a movie full of owls. your just watching it because the owls have those sexy British accent" That was what my dear friend told me when i asked her if she wants to watch The Owls of ga'hoole movie. I have to admit... the first time i saw the trailer to this movie i wanted to watch it. The owls were cutely drawned with their cute owly armor and i like the soundtrack and well yes the fact remains i watched it coz i find owls with the british accent cute. ^_^

Moving forward the movie was like Lord of the Rings but this time its not elves, humans or hobits. They are all owls. Really, when i was watching the movie, i can't help smiling about how the lead owl (i forgot his name) sounded so like pippin at LOTR.

Story goes like this, these owls heared about the legends of the ga'hoole owls. One day these two brothers fell from their nest and was kidnap to the darkside of the owl populations. Much like soron if you ask me. This evil owl lost its beak in the legendary battle but still managed to have the most beautiful and cunning owl wife. Then this lead owl was helped by one of the owls of the enimies and he went on a journey to find the legendary owls of ga'hoole.

It is a story of adventure, revenge, sibling rivalry and believing in one self. I rate it the perfect movie for your kids. Their is a moral story to the movie.

Now this is yet another children book turned to series and i have checked the series and it has a long volumn. I wonder if its already finished or the author is still on its way to end the movie.

One thing though.... the soundtrack was perfect.. very celtic very european to match the mood and story of the movie. Except that one stupid song played while they were training at ga'hoole. I say, that song was totaly out of place and just plain ruined the mood of the movie.

My favorite part of the movie is when the lead owl dive through the storm. That was soo dramatic and emotional. I love it.

I hope they will continue the franchise of this movie. And i would like to buy the series of books once scholastica announce their warehouse sale again, ^_^

Money Before People thats the company motto

When you hear Wallstreet.... bankers and stock market would come to mind. Just watched wallstreet and wow i came out from the cinema with a head ache. I think i learned a lot about things about the business world, how to work it, how it works. I love Gordon Gekko's speech in his class.... "Greed is now legal" there are actual truths about the content of the movie. Morality often times does not exists in the boardroom. And the business world isn't different from Hollywood. Gossip. One single gossip with a very good gossiper or someone who has the charisma to convince people can actually gain millions in fact billions of dollars over night. And it can also send a person to 8yrs jail time and send a banker into suicide.

I have never understood the stock market. How it works, how people actually get rich with it with the right guts in where to put their money. So, it is true that if you have the charm to convince people to invest in an idea or a product show them a realistic turn over of investment in number of years you can actually be rich without even spending a penny. You just have the guts to trade.

"When your hurt you do not run away, when you loose you do not cry. You just have to stand up and go on." ^^j that actually hit home.

Wallstreet? this is actually a remake from an old movie. Enterprenuer students should watch this movie. They would learn a lot of things in the reality of making money

FYI: I watched the movie because i was intrigued on how wallstreet works, not because of the transformer guy... lol i don't even remember his name.

Zombies and Cupcakes

I wasn't planning in watching this movie. But i am irritated today and so i bought a ticket to watch Resident Evil: After life in 3D. I can say it was not a waste of my money. Chris is cute, Luther is cute. Luther reminds me of that black baldy guy in final fantasy: advent of children.

The plot is same old same old, escape from the zombie, go after the umbrella corporation and while your at it gather around survivors. If you guys watched the Resident Evil movie before this which is i think Resident Evil : Annahilation. You will understand why there are so many Alice in the beginning of the movie. In this new movie, Alice was successful in destroying the Umbrella Corp HQ at Japan. Then she went off to Arcadia which you will later on find out in the movie that it was just the Umbrella Corp all along behind the so called promise land.

I had fun with the 3D. I mean the fight scenes can actually match the fight scenes in the Matrix movie. And i just love the cinematography. My favorite scene is the beginning of the movie. Infected girl stands in the middle of Japan's streets while other people pass by her with their umbrella's saving them from getting wet from the rain. Then one man noticed her and stared at her and next thing you know girl is eating the man, Cool! They have adapted the anime rule, which is everything slows down on the best fighting scenes. At least this time, the movie didn't feel like your just playing a video game. ^_^

But how the movie end? I think there would be more Resident Evil movie in the future.

Alien Fetish

Ah... My predy is back. My friends call me crazy when i told them i find predator (predy) cute and sexy with his dread locks. I'v watched it since Arnold Swashinager (until now i can't spell his last name right) started the Predator series. They may be hunting humans for sport, but they don't hunt the innocence, they leave women and children alone (with a twisted reason that if they kill them no more humans to hunt lol) as long as they don't take up a weapon and fight back. Also, predys are honorable species. Not like some humans. So, its only not their dread locks and Klingon like strength and combat abilities, its also their honorable personalty... mmmm...

Anyway, on to this reboot movie. One thing I have gone to watch this movie is because Adrien Brody is there *drools* i have always fell head over heels with him ever since he appeared in the highlander series. Didn't even know he was in movie pianist and won the oscar for best actor in a leading role. I always drooled after him. So this new predator movie was a treat for my eyes and giggle factor. Like where can i find a movie with predy and my favorite sexy actor in one. If Johnny Depp was thrown into the movie i think i could die now... *faints*


Ok, enough with me oogling and drooling with predy and adrien. The movie is a battle royal genra. Predys are capturing the best and deadlist fighters on earth and drop them on their game reserve planet. Its like a sitcom, its like survivor island to the extreme. Its like every session, predys get new fresh beings for them to hunt down. Also, you will found out that there are two types of predy species. The big one and the small one. The small ones are ugly, i don't know if they are as honorable as the big ones. The big ones are the ones who has been to earth to hunt. Yes, i could tell the difference because of their snouts or mouth ^_^.

I really thought Royce (Adrien Brody) will die... hehe its a good thing he didn't die. I have to admit all through out the movie i can't help but oogle and drool over predy and adrien.

one prince of persia please.....

Wow.. and double wow. Tristan is hot... or was it Dresdan? And his older brother, i believe he was one of the men of Rohan in LOTR. and the other brother kinda looks like one of my barkadas. LOL

Anyway, lessons learned in the movie? yes there is. About brotherhood and sometimes people you trust are the ones who want you dead.

Fight scene was fantastic, the chase scene are excellent, i know there is a name of that technique, it is actually a street sport and this ain't the first movie that featured this certain technique. One movie who showed this maneuver is in a Vin Deseal movie and the other one was in CIS: NY.

Excellent stop motion technique when the dagger was used.

The actor, i forgot his name really fits with these types of roles. I believe he was Prince Alexander in the alexander movie. And i must say he looks hotter and hotter right before my eyes while i was watching the whole movie.

You know, come to think of it the king looks like one of the kings in LOTR and his brother is one of the actors at LOST.

hehe, I am not really good in remembering the real names of the actors.

I was expecting though that this movie was 3D, it could have been a great movie in 3D, specially when that snake jumped out from the underneath the sand.

Now, speaking of sand. The Assakasins (whatever) they are cool. They can manipulate sand and control snake. More like those kids in the SLytherin house. Their leader was quite handsome to even with his scar. You know scars can look cute. hehe.

Over all, the movie was not bad. Story line does makes sense and watching the movie kinda makes you think you have a game console on hand. It is so much like the game. You know, there was a scene that reminds me of the Assasins Creed game.

Best movie for Call Center Agents...

LOL. A nightmare of Elm st. you must be wondering i say its the best movie for call center agents. This is because the movie totaly fits the life style of a call center agent. Its normal for any call center agents to be awake more than 24hrs. I myself has experienced being awake for a full 3days not because of insomia, but because i need to have a life aside from taking calls and have people scream at me through the phone and taking crap with my supervisors and managers. lol but anyway, there are also good people in the call center business too.

Anywho, going back to the movie. We all know that this movie is a reboot from the old one back in the 80s. I do remember watching it when i was a kid. (lol i'v been watching horror movies since i was a child. no wonder i'm a bit insane lol) but really as the new movie says "Nobody remembers when they were five" That might be true, Coz i didn't remember freddy being a phidophile. All i remember is freddy in a killing spree. I also thought this is a gorey movie like SAW or Hostel. But its not really that gorey... a little slash here and there not really much gore so i could take it. I am planning to watch the old one, the original one. Coz i read somewhere that this reboot isn't really how the old one was told. But then again, people get confused between a reboot and a remake. Guys, those are two different thing, google it to know the difference.

Here's my assistment on this movie. It has the elements of an asian horror movie. (remember the hallway where nancy saw her friend chris in a body bag? thats so asian horror movie. Also the one in the pharmacy, thats also soo asian horror movie). But there's also the hollywood horror movie element. The screaming. *rolls eyes* hollywood horror movie isn't complete without the screaming. lol even though theres no point on screamming ^^j. Over all, i liked the movie. It has been years since i like a hollywood horror movie. These days hollywood seems to confuse themselves that the more chopping of body its the best horror movie. ^^j

In addition, i was surprised to see Micheal Bay as one of the executive producer of this movie. I mean, Micheal Bay.... all the movies he does has explosions. """ oh... there was the explosion when the parents burned Krueger in the dream of Quintin. Anywho, ending was hanging... so i think we are expecting a seguel. Now since freddy grabbed Nancy's mother in the end. So i'm looking that the sequel will be the parents turn to die. ^_^

Atleast his not sparkling... lol

The Vampire Assistant, one of the novels in Cirque de Freak. A mini novel that has been around for decades and has been reprented coz it has gain popularity again due to the movie. I haven't read the books though, but i know the books tackles alot about supernatural beings.

So on with the movie. There's your typical bestfriends that eventually became arch nemises. Darren became a vampire not because he wanted to be one, it was the price he paid for the life of his bestfriend. Unfortunately, greed and well being emo took over him and was easyly brainwashed by Mr.Tiny. Who wanted to create chaos to the world.

There isn't much about the movie. You get to see the typical freaks on a freak show. Now, most vampire movies are almost about vampires vs. werewolves. This movie, well they did have a wolfman, but what they were against with are their fellow vampires. It looks like there are two clans of vampires. One who are well groomed and sophisticated and the other one, they look dirty and smelly and they eat humans all the way.

Why i watched the movie? I didn't have anything to do that time. So i grab some popcorn and milk chocolate shake and watch as vampires battle each other.

This is a long mini series book, so i wouldn't be surprised if there would be another cirque de freak movie coming out in the future.

Solomon Kane

When I hear the name Solomon Kane what usualy comes to mind are demons. A mortal man hunting for demons. His like Hellsing.. a hunter of supernaturals but kane here just specializes in Demons. So, I said... I think I want to watch that. Besides, i like movies with demons,.. i am fascinated with demons. I wonder why. Ohhhkeey... so off i went to watch Solomon Kane.

Alright, typical royalty, since he is the 2nd child his father sends him to became a priest and his big brother to rule thier kingdom. Little brother don't like to be priest so he ran away from home and while doing that accidentaly pushed his rapist brother off the cliff.

Now, Kane grew up as a bounty hunter or treasure hunter and came accross a demon who wants his soul. According to the demon, his soul is already traded for for hell. (which until now have no idea how it happened. Like why was his soul doomed to hell. maybe i just need to watch the movie again and pay attention more closely) Moving on. He escape from this demon and seek refuge within a convent which he promised himself never to kill nor fight a man. However, he was thrown out by the convent. Head priest told him its not his place and he needs to go to a different path to seek redemtion of his soul.

Along his journy he met a family who was attacked by the forces of Malakai. The new overlord of the land.. and he is a sorcery. With the promise to save the daugther to the dying father (who actually died) he went to the journy to rescue her and broken his promise to his self that he won't kill nor fight. Along the way he has killed a lot of Malakai's horde.

Eventually he found out that Malakai has invaded his father's castle and that his brother was alive but under the spell of Malakai. I really don't know if he was under the spell or he just really hated his little brother for pushing him off the cliff. lol

Anywho, the movie is ok, i can't really say that they followed the graphic novel coz i haven't read it. I just know the name and well there was demons. Unfortunately there isn't much demons in the movie.. (sad) He looks cute though.. reminds me of the long haired guy in Brandon Lee's The crow movie. ^_^

Stark Vs. Hammer

Enter the biggest egotistic super hero in marvel. Ironman, tony stark... wonderfully portrade by robert downey jr. It was nice to see the same faces. Too bad the original actor of Rhodes could not join this sequel. I've read somewhere that its because he raised his talent fee. So marvel wer looking for another alternative given that his project nearly got pulled out due to the budget. I think they are making sure that they can keep Robert Downy as Ironman.

So, like Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark is an orphan. Instead of an old butler he has a sexy pretty private secritary Pepper Pots. Yes, the two are always compared at.. just search Batman vs Ironman in youtube and it will make you cry with laughter lol.

On to the movie. I was expecting that this was 3D but then again i was wrong. Marvel hasn't ventured into 3D yet. But rumors are flying around the internet that Marvel is looking into the possibility in making Captain America and The Avengers in 3D. Too late for Thor though coz they are currently shooting the movie already.

To much distruction, he trashed his house coz he got drunk on his birthday party and the whole Stark Expo blown to pieces because of the droids. *sigh* ah the millions and billions wasted, I guess he has insurance.

Beginning of his movie, Tony is dying because of some chemical reaction of his body with the current chest plate he is using. Saved by Director Fury (oh you will see a lot of him here) he was able to create a brand new element that could power an entaire city or country and is the answer to his survival.

Then there's the russian guy Ivan who love his bird... hehe I don't know if he died in the end but he took out a lot of beating with Ironman and Warmachine. And speaking of Warmachine... i didn't know warmachine was pimped by Hammer Industries. Oh yes, Hammer... his a dork. I believe he doesn't know anything about his company other then running it. He can't level with Stark coz Tony may not know about running a business but he knows what his company is developing. Besides, he has a very understanding private secritary.

Enter Natalie, the russian red hair. (was she russian?) anyway, i thought she was a villian, i was surprised that she was with the avenger.

In total, Ironman2 is ok. okey.. its great. But something is quite off with the movie. The screenwriter should have watched The incredible Hulk first before writing Ironman2. If he did, he didn't watch all through out that movie. Marvel has been tying down the movies that involves the Avenger Project. In Ironman2 it shows that Tony hasn't agreed with being part of SHIELDS "Secret Boyband" as he clearly stated with Dr. Fury. But in the incredible hulk movie it was tony who visited the general in talking to him about the avenger project.

Moving forward, we all know that what was found in new mexico is Thor's magnifent hammer. So thor is diffently the next. then Captain America then the Avengers. I wonder if DC will make a movie with thier Justice Legue to match Marvel's Avengers.

Here is Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth. As you can see, Marvel is going to stick to Thor's comic custome. For those you don't know Mr. Hemsworth, his the father of Capt. Kirk in the 2009 reboot of Star Trek movie.

Super Hero wannabes anyone?

So me and my sister decided to watch kick-ass after a dinner at Sofitel.

First time i heard about the movie "kick ass" i was thinking.. eh? Watchmen spoof movie? When i digged deeper and finally saw the trailer, i found out that it was not and it was more like an indipendent superhero movie.

So here was a geek who likes to qoute superheros. Love the scenes where he actually pointed out that he was not bitten by a radio active spider, nor escaped from a doom planet or his parents got mug and murdered on the streets. That was pretty hilarious. I think comic book geeks would love this movie. There are some truth in the movie though, setting aside the super hero stuff.

Admit it, you wouldn't help a stranger being mug in the streets. How many times has happened that someone died right infront of a call center building coz the guards didnt do anything but lock the doors and watch a poor fellow being mug and stabbed to death. Sometimes, it takes a hero to help strangers in need. Not only that, how about corruption inside the law. That is pretty normal. Policemen in the gang's payroll? really now.

Funny about this movie is the little girl. Wow.. love the way she handled the balisong. And love the way he saved his dad. She is a good actress in such a young age, she reminds me of Dekota Fanning in her younger years. And really does this picture look familiar? Yes, for those otakus. She does look like Kite.

In the end, you would see that we might be expecting a Kick Ass two. Which is already at the works. Maybe we will be seeing Red Mist as a villian in kick-ass2.

Release the Kraken....!!!

Clash of the titans. I watched it in 3D, because well i wanted to experience 3D and i had fun watching Avatar and Alice in 3D. Lets just say i got used to watching movies in 3D these days. I haven't watch the Clash of the Titan back in 1981, heck! i wasn't even born yet.  But according to my research, the 2010 movie isn't the same as the 1981. However all the actors in the play as much the same. Except with Hades, he wasn't in 1981. Back in the 80's it was the sea goddess Thetis who wants her son to marry the princess. There was no Zues going emo other his creation (which is us humans).

Ok, so much for the 1981 movie... lets move on and go to the 2010 movie of the clash of titans. The movie was full of action, nice fighting scene specialy in 3D. Custome design execelent they really look like those people back in the olden times. Cinematography, ok. However, as a self proclaimed greek mythology researcher (yes i like to learn about myths, specially about the gods and goddess of all old civilation) i couldn't help notice that the story line is quite off from the real deal. But the 2010 movie is much closer to the real greek myth of Perseus.

And oh... all through out the movie i have been staring at Hades. He looked cute with all his darkness. Bah... no wonder he looks cute... he was played by Ralph Fiennes. In fairness, Fiennes and Neeson really looks like brothers in this movie. ^_^ Both are sooooo cute.

Down the Rabbit hole

Once again, another fairy tale has brought to life by hollywood. I see no, original screen play already. Its either sequels, prequels, trilogies, base on a manga, graphic novel, even the mythology movies has been remaked and a lot of movies are booting up.

So anyway, i was meeting a client yesterday at the mall 20minutes away from my house. They treated me for dinner, discussed business and by 9pm i was done. That was my schedule yesterday. Since its freaking hot at home with no AC only an electric fan, i decided to watch Alice in Wonderland. I have been raving on about Tim B's alice in this blog of mine before anyone here in the philippines actually cared about it.

So, alice is now 16, went to a party she didn't even know that it was her engangement party. So she ran away with an excuse of I've got to think about it, and down the rabbit whole she go. Its a typical fairytale sequel. Hero called back, hero forgot memories, hero saved the day. It was soooo disney. And here I was actually expecting that it was the Return to Wonderland Graphic novel that Tim Burton is doing. Well, i through that hope out right the window when i knew Disney is behind it.

The usual trio, where there is Burton, there is Depp and there is "sorry she has such a long name and hard to pronounce for my tongue" the wife of Burton which is a good actress to. And lol the bimbo white queen. She was funny on her own way. The red queen reminds me of myself.... hahaha spoiled brat, OOOOOOoooFFFFF with THEIR HEAAADDDDSSSS!!!

*sigh* but alas, it was not what i was expecting it to be. Having disney taking up Alice in Wonderand... i see that burton's dark and gothic touch was lost. I was expecting it, specially Depp was there and his wife.

Oh well, anyway, ill be expecting alot of Alice characters in the next cosplay conventions because of this movie.

I'm still working on a custome to be the red queen... lol not the disney version, i prefer the porn version... hahahahah

Been awhile... have u miss the Movie Wench ^_^

I'v been talking about Tim B's Alice like since the beginning of 2009 and since the trailer has shown here people has started cosplaying and having tea parties ever since. Bah! mainstream people.

Anywho, i have been busy and i have to live up as a movie wench... so here's some updates i'm sure u peps haven't heard off yet. BTW, Alice in Wonderland should have been shown in december 2009 not march2010. stupid philippine movie screw up the hollywood movie premiers.

ok back to work...

Some people might have been scared with Paranormal Activities movie. I got curious so i watched the damn movie and it was BOOOOORRRRRIIIINNNNGGGG!!! damn boring that if there is a fast forward in watching in theater i could have done it. And when finally the activities started it was damn funny. Like c'mon who wouldn't wake up when someone has pulled you out from your bed. She only woke up when she was already at the door, how stupid could she be. Anywho, I was perplex to know that paramount is making a Paranormal Activity two. o.O huh? it was a huge success that earned them $108 million that they are considering in making a sequel? ROFL. Ok i was fooled once... but i won't be fooled twice.

Going on next...

3-D Glasses pose a health risk says Italian theater owners. lol news are spreading, the european countries are boycotting Tim's Alice.

They say it will coz hygiene problems if not cleaned properly after every screaning. And yes, the Italian health ministry actually confiscated almost 70k of 3-D glasses. lol
