2010

so, its the end of the world. Hollywood has been fixated on making movies for the past days about our world ending. either its from the birth of the anti-Christ. Coming of alien species, climate change, earths core distraction and earth lost its gravitational pull. and now this 2012 - the shifting of tectonic plates, just like what happened millions of years ago.

So it all started when a scientist from India recorded the biggest solar eruption of the sun that cost the earth core to heat up making the land mass shift cozing massive earthquakes that submerge a lot of continents and also cost major shifting of poles. So if the earthquakes won't kill you, the tsunamis will. So there really wasn't any escape. However, looks like the content of Africa wasn't flooded and if you were on the tip of mount Everest you wont be drowned by the tsunamis.

The movie is good, it has moral, it has lessons learned. however there are facts that the writer has missed out. How could the African content survive when in fact it is Asia that has the highest sea level so the Asian content should have survived. And my friend actually have the point. Could be that the Mayan calendar ended on 2012 because when the Spanish conquistadors have desecrated their works by melting the gold to make their jewelries? she was a point on this though. But true, that sooner or later our earth will have a facial lift due to sun and planetary activities.

So in 2012, looks like the deluge has happened again. When the whole world is flooded. Before scientist said that the cause of the deluge was due to melting ice from the polar ice caps. this time it is due to the solar flair that caused earth's core to heat up that made our earth shift like a rubrics cube.

i actually watched the movie 3times :)

french,germans,nazis,gostavoz and then some...

inglourious basterds.. a group of american soldiers deployed into german soil to eliminate nazis. This is such a great movie. Once again quentin tarantino out did himself again. with great cinematography and sequince. A serious topic about nazis killing jews in world war one tarantino turned it into a brutal comedy with lots of laugh and outragious acting. Hitler looked like a brat... well almost all the german soldiers looked like brats and pyschos. But the mixture of french and german language made the movie soooooo... lovely. Well i always had an afinity with the french and german language. Although there are some scenes of brutality and gore but i could take it.

AstroBoy

Due to my busy schedule i wasnt able to watch astroboy on the day it was first shown in the theaters. However even though i only had one day off this week due to a screwed up work sched, i took time to watch my childhood love. yes, i do remember the times i get into a fight with my dad just watch astroboy coz he prefer PBA. Well moving forward,

I was a wee kid before and i could not really remember the first story of Astroboy. But the movie is overwhelming and i think hollywood has given astroboy justice. Story goes like this, MrTenko's son died in an accident when they have tested the peacekeeper. So just like any grieving father, he wanted his son back so he created a complete replica of his son, downloading the memories of his son to this robot boy that he made using his son's dna. Later on he discovered astroboy although looks like his son and had the memories of his son, he is still not his son. When astro knew about this, he ran away from home and then was persued by President stone because of his blue energy (i forgot the name). Upon persuit he dropped off from Metropolitan city to the ground city and was adopted by a bunch of kids. However his misfortune did not end there, when the leader of the ragrats discovered his a robot, then he uses Astroboy in his robot arena. Eventually Astroboy was saved by President Stone only to have him deactivated by his own father. However MrTenko betrayed President Stone and gave astroboy back his life and finally accepted him as his son.

With fury President Stone used the red stone to defeat Astroboy but just like any other movies, the hero prevailed and he won.

I don't know about those people who watched the movie but I cried, three times. When Toby died, when his father disowned him, and when his father was about to diactivate him. I do not easyly cry on movies but sometimes when you can relate to what you are watching you cry. When you have experience death of a love one anyone dying in the movie you cry. *sigh*

Well then, I give this movie two thumbs up and i believe i'll be buying its DVD on this one as a collection, take note... its original dvd not the pirated once.... hehe..

SIMS/Second Life.. to the extreme!!!

I don't tell me you haven't heard of the SIMS game by EA, and then there is the secondlife.com where you could actually virtually live your most desired life inside the cyber world. Surrogate the movie is something like it. When i was watching the movie I can't help but think about these two games. Why? coz in the first place both comes with a costumize avatar and in this movie the surrogates are your avatar. People no longer go out from there houses. They have been addicted to living there life through there surrogates. Building them to your perfect desire. Like you could be making out with a sexy hot girl only to find out that the operator behind the surrogate is a fat slobby man. Or that you are talking to a teenager boy at the dance not knowing the operator behind the surrogate is a dirty old man. Its pretty much the same in SIMs and second life. only difference is in this movie there could be physical interaction with both your surrogates. Which is going back to the movie., improve the crime rate and lower down HIV or diseases.

But just like SIMS and SecondLife games, the surrogates could be addictive that man has forgotten its true nature. Like any other political views there will always an opposition, so there are alot of people as well who are against the surrogate and thats where the story of this movie revolve.

Watch it, its not because Bruce willis is the lead actor. But because you could actually learn something in this movie ^_^

Saw VI trailer is out, Marvel movies on the works and liam neeson as Zues?

Yes, Liam Neeson is Zues in the up coming movie Clash of the Titans. Just like some other greek gods movie its always about Hades (ralph fiennes) who is the bad god who wants to take over the title of God of the Gods and wants to defeat all powerfull Zues (liam neeson). The story is just like the myth tells Perseus born as a god raised as a mortal is helping Zues in deafeting Hades. Since i have always been a fan of myth and legends and all those gods and goddess lore, i would probobly watch this movie as well as the up coming movie Jason and the Argonouts. I wonder why can't hollywood make a movie about the Egyptian Gods? There life are pretty interesting enough. How about the Gods in Sumeria.. tha anunakis and all. I mean there have been a lot of movies about the greek myths and ballads why not venture with other cultural gods? I mean i would like to watch a movie about marduk and how he rebeled against his father. Its just that too much greek god movies would tend to bore people.

Now Moving Along...

Marvel is on its work with Ghost Rider 2 and X-men Origins: Magnito is expected to be shown in the theaters before GhostRider2. On the other hand a stand alone movie of Silver Surfer is under way. i wonder if this time they will follow the galactus thing. I mean i wasn't empress about the fantastic 4 with him in it because there was no mention about galactus anywhere. It was not enplaned that he is just merely scouting earth if its suitable for his masters menu for dinner. and then there is Daredevil. It is still unknown if it will be a sequiel to the daredevil movie from before or will it be a reboot.

And last but not the least... for those who are into gorey movies, for people who get off in watching people being tortured to death.. Drum rolls pls... here it is the trailer for SAW6

AntiChrist

I have to admit i didn't fully watch the movie when I saw that she was about to cut off her husband's private with a cutter while he was unconscious. If sexual gore is not your thing and disturbing movies gives you nightmares over Sadako, then i might advice you not to read my review for Lier Von's Antichrist.

So, through out the movie you will see the transition of a mother losing a child. From depression to anxiaty to being a nymphomaniac to just plain crazy. >.< Movie is full of symbolism within the events that happened with the two actors. I think this movie didn't make it here in our country, which i believe because of obvious reasons. Although i have to admit the first sexual since looks like art and not plane porn well until the director decided a graphic depiction of the in and out thing that a woman and man do in close up. lol. now, in terms of cinematography it is great no wonder it was nominated in the kanes film feastival.

A racist movie.. but instead of non-american/colored people, they used aliens..

ah.. humans has always been fascinated by aliens. the thought of aliens being among us, the u.s. government hiding aliens in area51 it isn't a surprise that yet another alien movie is created.

District 9, practically 20years ago an alien ship hovered over a certain place in africa and i forgot the name of the city. The NATO has tried to communicate with the alien space craft but didn't got any respond. So human's have cut there way in the aircraft. Inside they found millions of Aliens inside, afriad and malnurished. Eventually the aliens have lived among the humans in that area and eventually was named district9. And then there are the pros and cons of giving the aliens rights to live among the humans. which eventually human's started calling the aliens prawns coz they look like prawns.

The movie is good when it comes to the story line. Cinamatography? i couldn't say its bad coz it is filmed like it was a documentary, like those blair witch project thing. But story is quite common. Racism, human's being greedy with the technology in building the ultimate weapons. The movie doesn't appeal on me much, however a lot actually said it was a good movie.

and since it was a hit in the movies. rumors roamed around hollywood that district 10 is being drafted already.

*sigh dreamly* my childhood love

i remember way back when i was still a child where my dad gets mad if he can't watch his PBA games on t.v. Why? coz here i am starting to cry and pout and being brat if i couldn't watch my Astroboy. How would I know decades later i will have a chance to see him in the big screen.

Astroboy is somewhat a modern age Pinocchio, minus the fairy godmother and his nose getting longer every time he lies. Its like Pinocchio met Frankenstein.

Anyway, i bring you the first trailer of Astroboy the movie.

GOOOOoooo JOESsss..!!!

lol they didn't really had this in the movie. In the old times, every time the joes are being deployed or whatever they usually have this cheer.. "Gooo... Joesss.."

Anyway, the movie was fantastic. Lot of action, it lived up its animation version. The transition to one fight to the other is excellent. Casting was perfect. Story line? makes sense. Nano technology.. mmmm reminds me of the arcade game i play "Time Crisis 4".

However there are some points which hollywood yet again changed. As I could remember and correct me if i'm wrong since i was like what? 5 or 7 years old when G.I.Joe animation was aired through our telly. Barroness and Cobra is an item, not brothers and sister. And that Cobra got his face ruined because acid not nano bots. But then again its the 21st century and hollywood thought it would be fitting to have a story line base on the technology we are now living. Another thing.. Duke? and Barroness had a past? o.0 and because of this setting they made Barroness pathetic.. Arrrghhh... stupid hollywood. It was nice to see Barroness kicking some Joe asses just as she always is in animation but what the F? NO.. THEY MADE BARRONESS PATHETIC! *cries* She is not suppose to be a bimbo gogo eyed girl with a joe. Well other than hollywood made barroness pathetic the whole movie is fun, full of action, comedy.. (Why is the black guy always the comedy releif?)

If you haven't watched it.. you should get ur arse to the nearest movie screen. Coz as I over heared a conversation at work its way better than transformers2. lol AMEN to that.!

ORPHAN

I thought it was a horror movie. I thought it was a movie that is somewhat like the omen. All through out the beginning of the movie I waited for Esther to use her telekinesis or telekinetic abilities. But i was wrong. She is just a psychotic little girl. Well at least she looks like a little girl.

Very well, the story is like this. Mom lost her third child. She got depressed and became an alcoholic and nearly killed their daughter. Meanwhile her husband had an affair while she was having a nervous breakdown. Now all things passed, they decided to adopt a grown up child. Mother said, she would like to give her love to Jessica (the name of her lost baby) to someone else. Enter Esther. She is the adopted girl who came from Russia. In the first scenes in the movie with her it was clear to me that she has a father complex. Their older child (son) doesn't like her coz he finds her a weirdo by wearing ruffled dressed. As the movie progress, it clearly shows that she is a psychotic child who kills people that upsets her. Eventually she turned against her brother and mother. Eventually the mother learned Esther didn't came from an orphanage in Russia but a mental hospital that Esther isn't what she seems to be.

I am a bit disappointed on this movie. I was expecting it be a horror movie. Instead I got a psychotic thriller. *sigh* anyway, setting aside that. The movie is quite ok. Its one of those movies that is not a dissaster but not oscar material enough. However, its nicely done.

Here Comes... Johnny!!!!

Public Enemies, its more like Batman meets a serious Captain Jack Sparrow. lol. I have to admit I wanted to watch this movie is because I wanted to see Johnny Depp in big screen and I just realize i prefer him to be in roles that are not so normal. hehe. The movie itself is a drag, there are boring parts. Christian Bale? *sigh* as i was watching him act in the movie as the police detective going after Johnny depp, can't help thinking of another actor I know who, whatever role he portrays he always have one face, one expression on his face and that actor is... Keanu Reeves. lol.

Ok, Ok going back to the movie. The story line is your typical gangster movie. However, the movie looks like it was running in low budget. (but then again it could be some kind of directing style that they wanted to portray in public) The screen or the shots are like taken by home video cameras. The panning and the screening of the scene is like someone is documenting the events happening in the movie. Its like one of those reality cop series we watch in the telly. I think if it weren't for Depp and Bale, the movie won't even get to be on the top 10 list in the box office. Favorite scene though is when Johnny Dillenger (played by Depp) steped into the chicago police department unnoticed or rather unrecognized. He even went up to the section of the building where the team who was specially assembled to capture him resides. He walked right into the office where he saw pictures of his fallen friends in crime are being posted on walls with a stamp that says deased and his only picture which doesn't have the deased stamp yet. He even talked to the bunch of officers who were deep into listening who is winning the horse race. It was amazing and brave of him to do that. SPOILER ALERT! In the end of the movie, the way Johnny D. died is somewhat a suiside in his side. He knew the cops where there waiting for him, but he still went to it. I think in the end he couldn't just quit on what he did best. Even after all his friends and allies are iether died or selling him out to the police. He chosed to be shot, he chosed to be dead. He had a death wish, what a waste of life.

DRUM ROLL PLEEEEAAASSSSSEEEEE..!!!

here we are ladies and gentlemen, the first trailer out of Tim Burton's Alice and Wonderland....

From 300 sequell, to the warcraft movie.. to the teaser trailer of Tim B's Alice in Wonderland...

It looks like hollywood is still at its sequel mode. It's almost 3 years since 300 has been shown through cinemas and have become a big hit. and since then rumors about a sequell have been floating in the movie world. Recently, it has been known that Frank Miller is just about done in the first draft for the graphic novel sequel. But there is still no official news who will will be the screenwriter and director of the so called sequel movie of 300. but fans are hoping that it would still be Zack Synder.

In Comic-Con, the Green hornet black beauty car is finally unveiled. It's also reported that they are still looking for a KATO. For those who has seen green hornet series back in the 60s Kato was played by Bruce lee. So anyone in mind who could be best to play as kato? Green Hornet's side kick?

If you are into computer games you would be familiar with Castlevania. James Wan one of the two makers behind the Saw and the director of Dead Silence and Death Sentence. He will be co-writing and directing Castlevania ad the producer will be Paul W.S. Anderson. It is still not clear if this movie would be in CGI or would it be a live action movie. But one thing i'm looking forward to is it looks like hollywood will focus on its gothic storyline that I most love in Castlevania. Here's to hoping that hollywood won't ruin my views in castlevania.

Tim B's Alice in wonderland teaser trailer is out and i have diffenately waited for this. I am a huge Tim and Johnny fan. but looks like disney has blocked the trailer stating that it is not suppose to be out. as usually Disney is being a party poop. According to the once you saw the trailers, some people might not like the movie. Well duh.. you wouldn't expect a rated for kids alice in wonderland directed by TB. Until now it is till a great wonder why this is under disney. And I still say that TB should have made his alice in wonderland according to the graphic novel "return to wonderland."

Now Sam Raimi, if you know him, he directed evil dead and spiderman movies will be directing a movie base on the world of warcraft. Mmmm.. this has been my favorite computer game. Fell in love with arthas and the leach king. I am wondering how this movie will turn out. However the script to this movie is still on its work. However, it is claimed to be an epic movie since Legendary and Blizzard entertainment producing it and having Warner distribute it, Not only will the spiderman director will direct this movie but they also got Charles Roven into the mix (his the producer in the dark knight). So I wonder what will the DOTA fans and the world of warcraft fans will think of this. However, just like castlevania i am not yet sure if this will be a CGI movie or a live action movie.

and now looky here, Alice in wonderland is not yet out in the thesters and a new movie is set out to be made by Tim Burton with friend Johnny Depp. "Dark Shadows," a 1966-1971 horror series full of vampired, werewolves, demons, zombies and those paranormal people. (hmmm sounds like a world where Anita Blake grew up.) TB said he will be working with this once alice in wonderland is done. But the leading role is already crowned to his best friend johnny depp.

So, that it is for now folks about the news that are stirring hollywood these days. There are so many more movie up dates. I just write about the once I look interesting to me. Besides, why would I promote something that it isn't worth the time and money watching in the big screen. :P

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Well now, its a good thing i watched this movie on my own. You could hardly find a seat. Almost all the seats, its like I got to Trinoma 5pm but the scheduled showing of 6pm, 7pm and 9pm are already taken. Good thing the one scheduled in 9pm still have a seat available just for one. Yahoo for me.

Anyway, a friend's shout out in facebook says... "Forget the HP movie just read the book." After watching the movie, i knew how he felt. The movie is quite boring. The book is more exciting. I would suggest just buy or borrow yourself a book and it will be more interesting. But then again, 80% of the movie goers in harry potter haven't really read the book. Take for example the group of friends behind me. Their comments were. "Oh.. panget.. namatay si dumbledoor.", "Nakakapikon, bitin naman.","Napakaconfusing","Ang pangit misleading si snape." *sigh* Well obviously people who say this comments obviously haven't even touched the book.

So to the movie, I thought they almost forgot Narcissa going to Snape asking him for help in saving Draco. I didn't like Narcissa, she looked old and weak and pathetic. In the book she was discribed as a strong willed smug pretty gorgeous wife of a Malfoy, I was hoping to see Meryle Streep as Narcissa Malfoy. That was my favorite scene in all harry potter books, I was actually anticipating that scene eversince I read the book like 3yrs ago? And as pretty and crazy as ever Helen (wife of Tim Burton, whom I just recently knew) played BellaTrix, So like her. A friend doesn't like her for a reason she finds her weird. Well she just have to live with it coz she is an excellent actor. And I wonder, isn't it in this movie where Ron became the Prefect of the house or was it the last movie? There are some scenes that are left out, just like any books turned to movies. I am not really impressed in the movie, I just watched it for the sake of having collected the books from 1-7 and having watched all HP movies in the big screen. Although if your a parent it would be nice to bring your children to watch it, they might like the movie so much enough for them to read the books. And what great way to intruduce your kids in reading books. Kids or even teens or even adults now a days doesn't like reading books as much as the generation before them. That's why the human's brain standards have been falling rock bottom.

Second, Draco looked pathetic in the movie, in the book he looked sad. A lot might not get this but the reason why Dumbledoor asked Snape to just kill him is because Dumbledoor doesn't want Draco to go through the ordeal that Voldemort gave him. He was trying to save him. I'm telling you this coz in the next movie (you people who don't want to read the book and just watch the movie) might have comments like "ay bakit naging headmaster si snape diba siya pumatay kay dumbledoor?" *rolls eyes* and stop whining its not a spoiler coz if you have read the book you should know that already and that a lot died in deathly hollows and that lupin died and that one of the weasly died too as well.

I rate this movie 7. But even though i rate it 7, i think i'm still watching the last installment just for the heck of it.

So, there is a TEKKEN movie!

Work earlier was rather boring. One of our co-workers found out in wikipedia that there is a Tekken movie coming out anytime soon. I didn't believe it, i mean cmon anyone can post in wikipedia and there are alot of fans out there dreaming for their favorite games, books, anime turn into live action and some actually create there dream cast. So i am not really a big fan of wikipedia coz anyone can post anything there, i could post there that i will be starring LiLi in the new tekken movie if i want and post my picture in my lili custome. ROFL.

Okey, back to the topic at hand. So when i got home i directly check my movie news resources. And Cool there is a Tekken movie being made in hollywood. As the matter of fact its already in post production right now. (for those who doesnt know what post production means - meaning the filming of the movie is already done and its up to the editor and director to piece together what they have shot). The movie is being directed by Dwight H. Little (Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Marked for Death, Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid). Jon Foo will the playing as Jin Kazama. Luke Gross will be playing as Steve Fox. The story goes like this, Jin, enters the "King of Iron First" tournament in order to avenge the death of his mother that he blames upon Tekken's powerful and controlling chairman, Heihachi Mishima. There is still no official listings on whose going to be who in the movie and which game characters will be present in the movie. It is known that this movie might be rated-R because of the brutal fight scenes. So i'm guessing maybe the actors are really doing the signitures of the character there playing. I know Jin has a pretty brutal move. As far as i know the Tekken group are going low profile as for the moment with reason unknown. Movie reviewers could just speculate.

I hope this movie will be good not like the tekken anime OVA. I really didn't like that one.

ICE AGE 3: Dawn of the Dinosour...

I have read a lot of reviews in this movie that it's not good. That its not worth a watch. That it's a waste of time. But I watched this movie with my friend and we laughed our hearts out. True the story line is shallow but the meaning of friendship is still there. When IA2 ended we know that the two mammoth became an item. In this movie, they are pregnant already with their first mammoth child. Diego the sabertooth tiger realized that his not what he used to be and Sid the sloth still wanted to feel as if he belongs. When Diego announced his going solo, Manny got offended and thought that Diego is such a selfish animal. Sid was left feeling all alone and so he found three eggs. In fact its three T-rex eggs which it hatched and thought that Sid was thier mommy. Ofcors, naturally the mommy T-rex went to look for her children and when she came and took her babies back, she also took sid with her. That's where the adventure began in the movie. They were on the quest to find and save Sid.

Its like "land before time meets journey to the center of the universe". The trail lead them into an underground place where dinosours existed. There they met "Buck" the crazy weasel. Its a movie for kids, kids will appriate it. My favorite part is when they crossed the vally of deadly fumes. LOL Buck said if you inhale the fumes it is poisionous and you will die. It just so happens that its like a hilluim gas that makes your voice sound like cheapmunks and acts like a laughing gas coz you can't stop laughing. Just picture Diego the sabortooth tiger having a voice like a cheapmunk. You have to admit it is funny. I mean in that very scene of the movie I really LMHO!

And who could forget the crazy squerrel like creature who is always on the quest get his acorn. In the first movie he is only shown in the beggining and the end of the movie. On the 2nd movie not only in the first and last scene he is shown he also got a little bit in between. Now this time in this movie, not only did he get the chance to atleast inter-act with the main characeters but he got himself a girlfriend. Yah! our favorite ice age squerrel falls inlove in this movie.

And talk about CGI to the highest level. The furrs.. they look so real. Its like your not watching animation in CGI but stuff toys walking. Watching it in the big screen makes you think how nice their furr would feel if you hug them.

Over all the movie was worth the money... but good thing we didn't go for the 3d version coz its not worth the 3d version. Sometimes there are movies worth to watch in 3d some are just worth the big screen. ^_^

Watch it if you want some laughing trip to forget your sorrows.

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

its hardly a surprise, Optimus Prime died in this movie.... LOL

well if you are into transformers ever since the dawn of its existence in animation both american or japanese version, optimus dying is a pretty normal thing to happen. Then he will be resurected with additional hardware updates and with a brand new cooler name. THIS IS NOT A SPOILER if you haven't watch the movie coz as i said optimus always dies and more likely be upgraded just like any car that gets broken they fix it then its up and running like new.

So.... lets get on to the movie. Action is still the best, micheal bay always goes for movies that goes boom boom. Movie opens to the history about the fallen. This part is a bit confusing for me. According to my knowledge theres only the Deciepticons and the Autobots., The Fallen are a completely different species of transformers. I thought the fallen was refered to as the Deciepticons due to the defeat of Megatron in the first movie. Well, they did revive Megatron and lol Megatron still acts like a brat whenever he is injured, he still screams the name "STARSCREAM" and he still vents out at him. lol. talk about faithful right hand. And there is Bumblebee, obviously since BB (bumbblebee) is the one who got almost all the attention in the first movie, so it looks like Micheal Bay has took advantage on it and gave bumblebee a complete fight scene in fighting a huge Deciepticon in the desert.

anyway, the boy there, i forgot his name. Also took after optimus... ROFL. He also died.. ROFL. yah and his version of crossing over is he was faced by the fallen and was told that he needs to go back and help save the planet earth or something and when he came back to life the new spark from the fallen that turned to ashes was turned back to its original state which he stabed it at optimus in able to wake him up. yah sorry i find it funny coz he also died and came back to life just like optimus did. lol

Also, theres an annoying washington representative in the movie where he wanted to send the autobots out from our globe. He has this rationale that the deciepticons are invading the earth because the autobots are on it. ROFL.Another idiot government official. Movies like this always have this type of character.

Now seriously, the movie is just fine, full of action pack and if ur into military you'll drool over the figher planes and the destroyers and the cars.... mmmm.. love the cars and the new bikes of the autobots. Cinamatography is also quite ok transistion to one scene to the other is ok. I can't think of any lessons to be learned in this movie.

But you know what... while I was watching Transformers I kept on thinking what if anytime now Tony Starks will come out in the movie and then offer his services to do the autobots for thier maintenances...... lol

now, wouldn't that be cool? ^_^

Blood: The Last Vampire

Here's another anime turn movie by hollywood. Blood: The Last Vampire, has a wide range of fans in its anime version. When I first saw the trailer of this live movie I actually smiled, atleast this time hollywood casted the characters right. Which means they casted a japanese girl as Saya and the characters that are suppose to be japanese are really japanese. Not like Dragonball which was casted stupidly or Mermois of a Giesha where they casted chinese people.. o.0 WUWT. Anyway, this Blood movie is base on the first movie of the animation not the series. This is where Saya was asked to go undercover to as a high school student to hunt down blood suckers. (notice that they didn't mention the word vampire in the movie. or did i miss it... anyway). But in this live movie version it looks like Saya is being comfronted by her vampire mother. Which I don't remember in the series that her mother was looking for her. If we base it on the series Blood Plus... Saya was looking or rather defending the movies from her twin sister, not her mother. But this changes or addition in the movie is quite okey, it didn't ruined the essense of the story.

Other all the cinematography is good, fight scenes are so anime and even the way they moved is so anime. The movie didn't stray far from the actual story. There are a lot of gorey stuff when Saya kills with her sword but its tolerable. There might be some reviews saying that its a corney movie... i even read one that he didn't like it and said something about FB japanese girls.. well the author was a F*A* racist american anyway so what do you expect. LOL

Trust me I am a Blood fan, and if you are a Blood fan like me, you won't be disappointed if you watch this movie. BTW, in the series the guy with Saya the one that poses her bodyguard is not in the movie. Again, the movie was based on the anime movie... not the series. ^_^

o.0 FACEBOOK MOVIE?

My sources just informed me that David Fincher (director of Aliens, Seven, Fightclub) will be directing the movie "The accidental billionaires" which is base on how facebook has came to be. It rather surprised people why Mr. Fincher will be directing a movie about how Mark Zuckerber a sophomore student in Hardvard came up with facebook and became a billionare. But that's not what I am surprised about. o.0 FACEBOOK? the movie? like come on, what would hollywood think of next? Twitter the animation movie? What's been going on in hollywood? Does their scriptwriters can't think of anything original anymore which is not a reset of an old movie franchise, or a remark or base on a true story, graphic novel, game, animation, asian movies or novel? It looks like Hollywood has been feeding us with movies base on something not really written for the big screen like before. And speaking of novels, it shows that this Facebook movie is ALSO BASED on a NOVEL that will hit the stores next month which is july. Which is titled: "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal" that was written by Ben Mezrich. AGAIN.... another movie base on a novel which is base on a true to life moment. ^^j Here's the full look of the story base on AMAZON.COM

Eduardo Saverin and Mark Zuckerberg were Harvard undergraduates and best friends–outsiders at a school filled with polished prep-school grads and long-time legacies. They shared both academic brilliance in math and a geeky awkwardness with women.

Eduardo figured their ticket to social acceptance–and sexual success–was getting invited to join one of the university’s Final Clubs, a constellation of elite societies that had groomed generations of the most powerful men in the world and ranked on top of the inflexible hierarchy at Harvard. Mark, with less of an interest in what the campus alpha males thought of him, happened to be a computer genius of the first order.

Which he used to find a more direct route to social stardom: one lonely night, Mark hacked into the university's computer system, creating a ratable database of all the female students on campus–and subsequently crashing the university's servers and nearly getting himself kicked out of school. In that moment, in his Harvard dorm room, the framework for Facebook was born.

There is still no casting being done in this movie nor it has been started yet. I am confused though on what will be the title of this movie. Will it take up the title of the book or would it have the title that Mr.Fincher has announced earlier this year that he will be directing a movie called the "The Social Network". There is still no release date on this movie.

o.0 Pictures of Johnny Depp are out people in Alice and Wonderland

Ever since I have stumbled into the art work of return to wonderland graphic novel, I have been getting hits by an alice in wonderland movie directed by Tim Burton. Mr. Burton has been one of my favorite directors next to Tarantino, woo, Backhaimmer and Speilberg. And what facinates me that almost all movies that Burton directs wiether its live or animated Johnny Depp and his wife is always in it. And They are good at it. So anyway, when I found about this movie I expected that Mr. Burton did a movie about the graphic novel of Return to Wonderland, which I thought I missed and was disperately searching for the Dvd of it. Then only to find out that its still on the making and its under Disney. (x.x) When i read disney, all my hopes went up in smokes. It will be impossible for Disney to commision a Return to Wonderland movie, this graphic novel is like the adult version of Alice in wonderland. So digging further i was able to find out that Mr.Burton is indeed making the classic alice in wonderland from where Disney left off years ago in the animation version. This time Alice is in a victorian party not falling asleep under a tree while reading a book. It has been writen in US Today, that the Mad Hatter (Mr.Depp) Welcome's back to Wonderland, is given that this happened years after she had her adventure in wonderland as a kid. So ofcorst, being the director makes the movie intering, having mr.Depp in it makes it more Facinatingly Interesting. As I have mentioned in my c blog this movie will be out in 2010 and I will diffenately watch this in the big screen. A lot of people has commented that this Alice movie will be having an air of creepyness because its Tim Burton with his usual acomplish Johnny Depp and his wife Helena Bonham Carter. On the other hand the White Queen will be playes by Anne Hathaway. Mia Wasikawska will be the girl that will play Alice. There are plans to ad on CG animations and motion capture creatures.

Just recently US Today has released the first look on one of the major characters in the moive.

(from L - R)

Depp -Mad Hatter
Carter - Queen of Hearts
Hathaway - White Queen

The movie will be released in 3D, which means there will be an IMAX version to it as well as the ordinary 2d movie experience. I hope our local IMAX theater will get this straight. I don't want to waste nearly 500 bucks expecting the movie i'm watching is 3d only to find out its just in 2d and the screan is not even 180 degrees cieling to buttom like THE REAL IMAX theaters in the u.s

To sum it all up... I will diffenately watch this movie. ^_^

The Taking of Pelham 123

Directed by Tony Scott. Since the movie has been released in the big screen it has earned $25,000,000 in total and is #3 of the top ten movies of the week by BoxOffice.

In my 2009 must see movies I have talked about this movie already that this is a remake of the 1974 film with the same title. So since this movie is part of my must see movies list of 2009, I called up my bestfriend to watch it with me. She personally have been to NY and has rode the Pelham 123. She told me its really exactly the same.

So, the movie started like its just an ordinary day in the subway. And Gruber played by Washington started his ordinary day as well. I think my bestfriend was right this is the first movie where denzel played a role as an underdog.

Now Ryder (travolta), and his men took the train in just one minute and no one even noticed it. When they went to the tunnel that's when they separated the passenger trunks to the main trunks. (sorry i don't know what they call that, so i call them trunks). The hostage terms were pretty simple. $10million in an hour and every minute that is pass one hour hostages starts to die. It is pretty interesting that the mayor of new york city is riding the subway train in this movie. Makes me wonder if the real NY mayor rides the train for real. So anyway back to the movie. As the movie unfolds we learned that Ryder is a former Wall Street Banker.. or so it seems to me. He keeps on monitoring the stock market and bringing down the dollar value against gold. Apparently years back before he was put to jail, he had like court hearing regarding his business that he appealed for and was only granted $2 million from the government and was given only $1million. Well that's what I understood since I failed my corporate accounting in college. The plan was so clean and sure, if Graber wasn't playing hero. Ryder could have gotten away from it. But in the end I think Ryder wanted a death sentence anyway. Now I wonder where his $300million stock will go now that his dead.

Over all the movie is great, but it kinda made the NY government look bad. And also there's the issue of Graber taking a $3500 bribe that cost his demotion coz he needed it to pay for his children's college. Which he finally admitted when Ryder was about to shoot a teenager.

Travolta hasn't lost his touch in acting. He is still good at it. So is Washington. The movie is worth of p160 I paid for for seeing the movie in the big screen. It doesn't have much action but its good.

10th Annual Golden Trailer Awards

Now this is a new added information to me. We all know about the Oscars (Academy awards) where they award movies not only with popularity but in terms of the quality in every movie aspects. Then there's the Golden Globe Awards, Actor's Guild Awards for actors in there movie performance. Tony Awards, MTV Movie awards that is based on popularity of the movie being nominated and voted by the fans never mind the quality of the movie. But never have I heard about an award show solely created just for movie trailers. In my quest in traveling into the vast network we call the internet. Moving from one domain to another nameservers within the network I stumbled into the URL of http://www.goldentrailer.com/. It is the home of the Golden Trailer Awards. Now, I love watching trailers. I even want to go in the movie house 30 or an hour earlier of the movie I am watching with reasons that I want to watch the trailer that they will be showing before the movie. But never did I realize that there are awards for this things. According to goldentrailer.com;

"Movie trailers play an increasingly important role in entertaining us and helping us determine where to spend our leisure time. The best trailers are works of art in their own right, expertly blending elements of cinema and advertising. "

Which is true, how many movies have we watched because the trailer intrigue us or the trailer looks interesting enough. (which is sometimes the trailer are more exciting compared to the actual movie itself. lol) It also makes sense since trailers are advertisements for the up coming movie and we all know that there are also advertising awards given out each year in the advertising industry.

So three days ago the 10th Annual Golden Trailers Awards was held in Director's Guild in America Theater Complex in 7920 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90046. And here are the winners.

Drag me to Hell?

I wasn't planning to watch this movie with reasons that I find it corny and I'm not really a fan of Hollywood horror (coz hollywood horror are either gruesome or noisy full of screaming nonsense). But according to Box Office (the magazine that monitors profits in the movie industry), Drag me to hell as a earned $1,505,555 daily since its opening and so far $17,331,035 in total since its showing date gaining #4 in the BoxOffice Ranking since June 1st of 2009. So I went ahead and watch the movie out of curiousity.

Okey, here's the story line of the movie. Christine, is trying to win a promotion to be the new assistant manager that she is working. She's a loan officer in the bank. One day, a gypsie old woman requested for an extension for her loan. Apparantly she wasn't able to pay anything since she was sick and right now her house is in repod already by the bank. Since Christine wants this assistant manager promotion so bad, she decided to turn down the old woman's request even though she can still approve an extension to the mortage. So this creepy old woman cursed Christine to go to hell, in this story... literaly. LOL

I thought it would be a non-sense horror movie about screaming and body parts being sliced out from the body. But I guess I was wrong, its more like swallowing a fly why you were sleeping. Able to drink bodyly fluids with a corpse that fell on you or had a nose bleed that you ended up spraying your boss with blood. Just like any cursed horror movie, christine went out and seeked for a pyschic to help her with her troubles. Her boyfriend is so supportive as well. Although at first he was a bit pessimistic about the idea of Christine seeking for a psychic. One thing is this psychic was asking for $10,000. o.0 wow! that's a lot of money. I mean if your the real thing you don't price yourself let alone accept any payment for your services. So, anyway, boyfriend remembers his promise to Christine the day he fell inlove with her. I find it the most romantic time in the movie. I mean, your boyfriend was all the 100% supportive with you for going to see a paranormalist. C'mon guys admit it... 99.9% would think thier girlfriend is already coo-coo in the head and would either dumb them or advice them to seek help with the likes of Dr. Phil. lol.

Cinematographyis ok. There was the time, in the scene of the round table calling forth the spirit, on the birds-eye-view shot they forgot the goat beside Christine. lol. I guess the editor didn't notice that. :P However, in the ending I somehow able to guess how the movie ends. The scene where she accidentaly lost the envelope in her boyfriend's car. Yeah in that one, my guess was right, She got the wrong envelope. The real one that contanied the cursed object was left in his boyfriend's car. But the movie is OK, not an oscar kind of movie but its ok. Now I rate this movie OK, because It has a lesson learned. "Loan Officers? Don't be selfish. You never know the person your kicking out their house will DRAG YOU TO HELL in 3days." ROFL.

Seriously, the moral stoy of the movie is do not be selfish when it comes to personal gain. Trust me, nothing good happens if you do. Everything has a price.

It's COraline!!!

There are a lot of Niel Gaiman's book turned to movie that wasn't shown in our theaters. For example, Mirror Mask. But we are not talking about MM... I will be talking about Coraline. "Not Caroline. It's COraline!"

I remember back then when I was starting up here in manila. Living alone, no cable no radio... so I have grown to a habit in buying books to read. One day I saw NG's Coraline book and back then it was just for only p150, Cheap for a Neil Gaiman book. So I bought it. I read it and it was fine for a children's book. Not so confusing as some of his children's book. But I won't be talking about Coraline as the book coz that will be over BookWench and this is MovieWench Blog.

So the movie started with a nice childreyny (if there is such word) song. All through out the movie it seems like they have followed the book, but I don't remember Wybie... Coraline's noisy annoying neighbor. But anyway, movie goes like this. Coraline and her parents just transferred to the pink castle and she discovers this little door behind the wallpaper and met her other mother and other father. It looks like this place through the little door is a parallel universe which has everybody in Coraline's life has an other self. And with this other parents she has she gets to do everything she wants and everything her real parents are not able to do the other parents can. Then there is the catch, like them which has button eyes, Coraline needs to have buttons sewn into her eyes in able to stay in that world and that would be forever. So she ran away from the other mother who eventually is a kind of spirit who eats little children's life force. Only to find out that her real parents was abducted by the other mother. Well to cut things short, Coraline ended saving her real parents and forever shutting the other mother out and dropping the key to the small door to the well.

Story is like the alice in wonderland if Gaiman was the one who wrote alice. Its quite easy to know the moral story, "Children, do not be fooled from people who gives you everything you want. Coz REMEMBER! Everything has a price."

In terms of Cinamatography... good, its animation anyway so they have done it well enough... Although it could have been nice for Tim Burton to have directed it instead in producing it. The animation style is close to Burton's Animaion style. (think Nightmare before christmas and Corpse Bride). Soundtrack is excellent perfectly fits the storyline and the atmosphere of the animation. This is a good children's movie perfect for the family to watch it together in the big screen.
